So, you want to hear my favorite story, eh? Fair enough. A warning, though - it is more of a history lesson than an exciting tale of adventure. Still so adamant? Okay, okay! No need to get worked up over it. I'm just trying to build tension.
To start, we go back seventy-five hundred years. Give or take.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is the fourteenth year of the Great Hiding, or so my advisors tell me. The populace already grows anxious. The ages are marked by genocide of what the new race claims unclean. Humanity, they call themselves in their native tongue. They say that we are half-breeds, and seek our blood. 'Half-Snake' and 'Half-W
The sounds of the slow mechanisms of the glass cutter were maddening. The tension would drive any normal person insane with paranoiaof being caught, but he stood his ground. Of course, most normal people have hum-drum lives and jobs, with families or dreams of families and a happy home. Once the inane screeches of the cutting glass stopped, Alex Mandrake, age twenty-seven, reached for the improvised suction cups he made from plungers earlier that evening.
"Damnable machine, always making such a noise. I really should replace it," he mumbled, "I'll get a new one after tonight." A satisfying 'thwok', and the plunger cups were attache
It was a normal British Summer. Rainy, cloudy, and humid. I never quite liked the idea of a Summer without the heat, but Ive never spoken with Mother Nature about it, or even verbally complained. Not much sense in doing so, of course. So when I took holiday to Stonehenge, the darkened, overcast sky was no surprise. The amount of people there was minimal, to my delight. I never liked crowds much, and having no tourists at all at such a famous site made me smile.
I got to keep the beauty of such an obscure monument to myself, and at that I smiled. It wasnt like me to smile, but I found myself with a large smirk. As I walked up th
Since the two dimensions have wavering borders with all th magic being tossed around these days, the distance (or more precise, time to cross the Gap) changes as well. It's immensely frustrating sometimes.
"At least we have tunes," I mumbled from the passenger's seat. Reaching up to turn on the radio, my hand was slapped back down by Kairi. "What wazzat for?" She glared at me from peripheral vision, no moving her head an inch. "You know electronics m
The Knight or the Knave?
'His fire is red, your greed is black. All of his time is set on attack. Does the knight forgive, or slay without thought? Does he rethink the dragons he fought? Ever the brave, ever the light. Does his courage go away at night? He seems only virtue, only good, only brave. Could you have known that he started a knave? 'Neco Omnis Provus', he'll yell, assuring his foe will be sent to Hell. How could he know, can he understand? Can his sword slay all without reprimand? No, his mistakes are there, rusting him away. Can you call him yet a knight today? For does the armor make the man, or the fire in his soul - For he protects you through heat and
It was too quiet for a werewolf to be around – not a good sign. Its also too dark to see where I'm stepping, and thus much harder to see where a lycan with black fur is. The growling seems to be all around me, but I don't think that there are more than one nearby. If there was, one would have lost its cool and attacked by now. As she panted through the forest, the very trees seemed to close in on her. She strove forward, almost tripping on her own long skirt.
"I've got you now, Goody Chapman!" The young ones took their fun quite seriously these days. She stopped again to catch her breath, and fell down in laughter. It was only then that she noticed the smell. That horrible, disgusting smell of rotting flesh.
Timothy Charleston was dead, mauled beyond comprehension.
Dear Kiefka,
The battle goes harsh. We lost many friends, even as we stepped from the locomotive. It was horrid. My eyes teared up as I was pushed forward by the other soldiers, partly from sadness and grief, but mostly fear. There was naught I could do but look at the scene before me. The train had stopped just four hundred meters from the Volga. Across the wet mud we trod, shoving and being shoved by eager soldiers, whose eyes had not yet seen the carnage.
But many of us, including me, had. It was too much to look at. Explosions, gunfire, dead bodies and crows fit to burst from fresh meals... but this was just t
"Come into the fray, young one. I will not bite hard..." Odd as it sounds, the hyena cackling coming from the werewolf's muzzle was an all-too-familiar experience. About once a week, these commonplace anomalies, these non-standard normalities, these... okay, I am getting ahead of myself. This story is not about me. Well, yes, but not just me, of course. Other people and personalities are present as well. But, as it stands, an introduction is in order, no?
I am Casper. Not undead, not mutated into a werewolf or summoned from the grave (such as a few acquaintances of mine may choose to believe even still), or even on the football tea
None, because I don't read that much.... but probably Douglas Adams.
I know, I know... I got Calamitus Syndrome, where I can't really FINISH ANYTHING.
But I got a new one. This one actually has 15 pages of writing done, though. I'm pleased with it, really. I'll upload it soon. Also on my Facebook, so those of you who have it, go there. Add a comment. Or do nothing like a Plebian.
Uploading soon, possibly tonight. Obviously only chapter one, that's all I have.
So. Been a while. I know that. I'll take the punishment. BUT. I have more story. Actually, new story. I feel like I don't finish anything. Which I kinda don't.
But still, I got this one. I'll add it soon.
I guess that my brain has had a string of awesome or something, because I've been able to write story things for a few days. That hardly ever happens. Though I welcome it. I'm still working on it, of course, but I'd like you guys to check it out, see what's goin' on with it, make some comments about it. I wanna know what you guys think of it.
